INTRODUCTION / OVERVIEW

In this two-part live online workshop series, presented in partnership with HSE Prompts South Africa, you will learn how to turn AI into your ultimate assistant while staying 100% compliant with POPIA and the OHS Act 85 of 1993.
This training is not a passive demonstration. Every session is a live build: you bring your sample materials, follow along step-by-step, and share your screen if you get stuck. Everything is taught in 100% South African context — our regulations, our legal realities, and local languages for frontline worker translations.

- The HSE lifecycle and where AI fits — from hazard identification to continuous improvement, and where accountability must remain with the competent person
- AI fundamentals for HSE professionals — how AI language tools work, their capabilities and limits, and the anatomy of a strong HSE prompt
- POPIA and OHS Act ground rules — the IT-approved pre-upload checklist; what may never go into an AI tool and how to anonymise what does
- LIVE BUILD 1: Toolbox talks in minutes — a complete, site-specific toolbox talk, translated for frontline workers in local languages
- LIVE BUILD 2: Risk assessments faster — a task-based risk assessment on a 5×5 matrix, aligned to the OHS Act, ready for competent-person review
- LIVE BUILD 3: Incident reports that stand up — from rough notes to a clear, factual report with root-cause prompts
- Your reusable prompt framework — repeat every build on Monday morning with your own documents
By the end of Session 1 you will be able to

SESSION 2: ADVANCED — BUILD YOUR AI-POWERED SHEQ SYSTEM

- Advanced prompting frameworks — role, context, chained prompts and output templates
- LIVE BUILD 1: The SHE file assistant — compile, index and gap-check a legal-compliance SHE file structure for a site or contractor pack
- LIVE BUILD 2: Plant-specific inspection systems — custom checklists and registers aligned to OHS Act regulations and SANS standards
- LIVE BUILD 3: ISO 45001 documentation engine — procedures, objectives and internal-audit prep documents mapped to ISO 45001 clauses
- LIVE BUILD 4: Trend analysis and monthly SHEQ reporting — turn anonymised incident and inspection data into leading indicators and a board-ready report
- Your department’s AI SOP and governed prompt library — a one-page AI use procedure your IT and legal teams can approve
By the end of Session 2 you will be able to
- Run multi-step AI workflows for SHE files, inspections, ISO 45001 documentation and reporting
- Turn anonymised incident data into trend insight and a board-ready monthly SHEQ report
- Deploy AI across your team while keeping POPIA compliance and competent-person accountability intact

POPIA & COMPLIANCE NOTE
Delegates never need to upload real company or employee information during this training. All live builds use clean, anonymised sample data supplied by the presenters. All techniques are taught in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993. AI accelerates execution — accountability and sign-off remain with the competent person at all times.
